Heavy Weather

Two years of touring turned The Ardent from a band that played fast into a band that plays heavy, and this is the record where that lands. We tracked it live across five days at The Room with the house PA running, so the drums have the actual concrete of the venue on them — which is either the best or the worst production decision we have ever made, depending on which side of the room you stand. ‘Curfew’ is nine minutes long and closes every show now. ‘Standing Water’ is the one that made us realise this band could headline. One thousand copies, our biggest press run, on black and on a splatter variant that we swore we would never do and then did anyway.
