Low Ceiling

The first record we ever pressed, and the one we still hand people when they ask what the label is. Harbour Lights recorded it over four nights in the practice room above a tyre garage, with the drummer’s Tascam running the whole time because nobody could afford to book a second session. You can hear the traffic on ‘Coast Road’ and a chair going over halfway through ‘Tin Roof Blues’, and we left both in — the band asked us to. Three hundred copies on black vinyl, sleeves glued at a kitchen table, all of them gone inside two months. This is the second pressing: same master, better sleeve stock, and a lyric insert that should have been in the first one.
