Copper Sister are two people and a drum machine, which does not remotely explain how dense this record is. They spent nine months layering it in a spare bedroom and then handed us stems with four hundred tracks in them, most of which turned out to be the same guitar recorded on a phone at different distances from the amp. Mixing took longer than making it. ‘The Slow Part’ is the centre of the record and it is six minutes long and nothing happens in it, and that is the point. Five hundred copies on translucent yellow, our first with a printed inner sleeve, and the first Nightform record to get played on national radio — twice, at two in the morning, but we counted it.
